Hybrid Catcher Development Program w/ Virtual Initial Assessment (6 Month Agreement)

$125.00 / month and a $65.00 sign-up fee

The Hybrid Catcher Development Program is a training program designed to teach and train catchers regardless of their geographic location and fit in with the time constraints of busy schedules. Quality catching instruction is tough to find regardless of where you live and I don’t want location and schedules to limit your ability to learn proper mechanics, get stronger, work toward your goals and have a positive influence in your life! Through the intentional framework of this program, I will teach you the proper mechanics associated with each skill inherent in the catcher position. Through and initial evaluation and strategically constructed weekly workouts, I will teach you proper mechanics and build a solid foundation to then push you to be stronger, quicker, faster, consistent etc. With a mix of skill specific drills and strength and conditioning drills, you can expect to grow in performance and strength resulting in increased performance on the field (and have a lot of fun)! It doesn’t stop here though… we will also implement mental skills and goal setting applications to ensure we are not only training and preparing your body, but also teaching and training your mind. If you know anything about me, my ultimate passion and goal is to teach female athletes out to control a positive mindset, establish and control their inner self confidence, set realistic goals, and become leaders both on and off of the field!

Benefits of this program?

  • Division I caliber instruction from a former Division I level catcher and coach.
  • A workout plan that includes training sessions for MULTIPLE days during the week. So often, 1:1 training sessions are for 1 hour once a week. This plan provides MORE repetitions and teaches the athlete the importance of time management and accountability.
  • Visual Instruction – Is has been said, 65% of the population are visual learners, when an athlete sees themselves (and others) performing a skill, slowed down and marked up, they have a better understanding of what they are trying to do, resulting is a quicker learning/ mastery process.
  • Modeling – ” Many great leaders have proven that the fastest way to master any skill, strategy or goal in life is to model those who have already forged the path ahead. If you can find someone who is already getting the results that you want and take the same actions they are taking, you can get the same results.” I was taught by a Team USA National Team Catcher and Coach, I was a catcher and Team Captain at the University of Florida and have trained many, many, many, many catchers that have gone on to successful collegiate careers! I’ve been there and know what it takes to get there!
  • A mentorship relationship with a positive female influence.
  • A really cool experience!

How does this work?

  • Initial Video Evaluation  – $65 (will be reflected as a ‘sign up fee’ upon check out)
    • This gives me a good idea of your current skills and allows me to design a proper player development plan that is realistic and reflects the athletes goals…this is our starting point!
    • Athlete skill video submission must showcase the following skills: Throwing (feet & knees), Blocking & Framing
      • How do you submit a video? Videos can simply be taken with your smart phone. Video the athlete (at home, in practice, game footage, whatever you have access to) performing the skills mentioned above. I recommend keeping the videos shorter in length (easier to send) and sending separate videos for each skill.
    • How do you submit videos? There are two ways to submit your videos:
      1. Via my website – After you receive your log in information, log into my website, click on the ‘Virtual Training’ Tab, scroll to the Video Upload section and upload files.
      2. Via Slack (preferred and easiest method) – Once you sign up as a member, you’ll receive an invitation to join my Academy using the communication and collaboration app platform Slack. It is free to you, all you have to do is accept the invitation to join and upload the app. Once on the app, you can DM your videos to me (there are a lot of additional cool features associated with this).
  • Player Development Plan – Each athlete gets their own training dashboard (sample: Sample Personalized Catcher Training Dashboard)
    • Initial Skill Evaluation (mentioned above)
    • Personalized Development Plan – How it works.
      • How do I teach? I start with deconstructing each skill (i.e. throwing mechanics, blocking mechanics, framing/ receiving, steal throws from the feet, steal throws from the knees etc.), to ensure each athlete understands the essential mechanics and WHY we do what we do. From there we add in drills that reinforce those mechanics through REPITITION. Once the athlete starts to gain traction on each skill, I then add in drills aimed to further challenge them (mentally and physically) to create awareness, build strength and consistency. This is how you grow! Each Plan will be tailored to the athlete’s current skill level and goals, to ensure adequate and realistic progression. The Plan will include a combination of the following:
        • Skill Specific Drills – All drills with have an associated link with instructions on how to execute the drill and what to focus on.
        • Catcher Specific Conditioning Drills – Once a good foundation of mechanics are in place, I will add in strength and conditioning drills that will aid in developing the athletes performance and endurance. A video link for the drills will be provided.
        • Skill Development Drill Progressions
        • Semi Monthly (twice per month) athlete produced videos will be sent to me for review and assessment from practice and/or games to ensure she is progressing. Videos are due Thursday nights for assessment and inclusion in the following weeks development plan workouts. These videos will be assessed and given to the athlete (athlete dashboard) with voice over coaching and broken down to ensure the athlete understands from a visual perspective what we are working on.
        • This is progressive plan which will be adjusted based on the athlete’s advancement. These videos help me understand how the athlete is progressing.

o   Monthly 1:1 Talk/ Video Call (15 min)

  • This is the athletes 1:1 time with me to ask any questions, seek clarification etc. This is our 1:1 mentoring and ‘touch base’ time!

o   Monthly Academy Alignment Video Calls (30 min.)

  • Video calls with all Ashlie Rowley Academy Catchers once a month to get everyone together to talk through situations, answer questions, share updates, and build up our catching community.
  • A specific time and day will be set for these calls with hope majority of our catchers can take part.
  • This is a great opportunity to feed off of one another, get to know catchers nationwide, build community and lift each other up!

Necessary equipment:

  • At a minimum, the athlete needs the following equipment:
    • A bucket of balls
    • A net to throw into
    • Space to move around and block
    • Tennis Balls
    • A medicine ball (10 lb. suggested). This isn’t always necessary but will be used in some drills and strength and conditioning movements.
    • Their own gear.
    • A smart phone.
    • A good attitude.
    • A willingness to learn!

** You’ll see me use additional equipment that isn’t necessary but aides in the training process.
